A Special Message to 2010 VOTERS from YOUR SUMMIT DEMOCRATS CO-CHAIRS...

Hello Summit County Democrats!!
Lucinda and Julie, Co-chairs
Early voting begins Monday morning [OCTOBER 18, 2010 to OCTOBER 29, 2010, Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm
], and then it is just two short weeks until election day! TODAY, Julie and I want you to commit to VOTE, and get 5 friends to do the same!! A lot is riding on this election - health care, jobs, forest health, public education - to name just a few. Here are some helpful links as you prepare to cast your ballot:

John Hickenlooper for Governor: www.hickenlooperforgovernor.com

Michael Bennet for US Senate: www.bennetforcolorado.com
(Did you hear Senator Bennet's opponent make shameful and intolerant comments on Meet the Press today? [October 17, 2010.] This is what we are up against.)

Jared Polis for US Representative (Congressional District 2): www.polisforcongress.com

Jeanne Nicholson for State Senate (Senate District 16): www.nicholsonforsenate.org

Christine Scanlan for State Representative (House District 56): www.christinescanlanforcolorado.com

Cary Kennedy for State Treasurer: www.kennedyfortreasurer.com

Bernie Buescher for Secretary of State: www.berniebuescher.com

Stan Garnett for Colorado Attorney General: www.garnettforag.com

Melissa Hart for CU Board of Regents: www.hartforcu.com

Angelika Schroeder for State Board of Education (Congressional District 2): www.schroederforsbe.com

Dan Gibbs for Summit County Commissioner: www.dangibbs.com

Beverly Breakstone for Summit County Assessor: www.co.summit.co.us/electedofficials/assessor.html

Bill Wallace for Summit County Treasurer and Public Trustee: www.co.summit.co.us/electedofficials/treasurer.html

In addition to supporting these candidates, the Summit County Democrats have taken a position on the following amendments and propostions:

YES on Question 3-B, A mill-levy override to support strong Summit County Schools: www.strongsummitschools.org www.strongsummitschools.org

NO on Amendments 60, 61 and Proposition 101 (The Ugly Three): www.donthurtcolorado.com www.donthurtcolorado.com

NO on Amendment 62 - The so-called "personhood" amendment: www.protectfamiliesprotectchoices.org

NO on Amendment 63 - Writes higher health care costs into our State constitution: www.coloradodeservesbetter.com

That's the line-up! We are fortunate to have an excellent slate of candidates committed to public service. However, many of our candidates are battling in close campaigns. EVERY RACE IS IMPORTANT and EVERY VOTE COUNTS!! Some of the opponents in these races represent extreme view points that would hurt Colorado citizens. So, please help us GET OUT THE DEMOCRATIC VOTE! Start by making your own plans to vote. Then, remind your friends and neighbors to vote. If you are able to make phone calls, let us know and we will get you started. This is too important an election to sit on the sidelines!!

There are three ways to vote this election season. To learn about mail-in voting, early voting or voting at your polling place on November 2, visit the Summit County Clerk and Recorder's office: www.co.summit.co.us/Elections/2007/2007_coordinatedInfo.html

Thank you for taking a stand for Summit County and Colorado. See you at the polls!
