Summit County Assembly – Wednesday, March 28

The Summit County Assembly will be held on Wednesday, March 28 at the Frisco Community & Senior Center (83 Nancy Place; Frisco, CO 80443). Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. for registration; the assembly will be called to order at 6:30 p.m.

Per Colorado Democratic Party guidance, speaking time at the assembly is reserved for candidates who are going through the assembly process, or assembly plus petition. Candidates for county offices (or a designated representative) are invited to speak for three minutes; all other candidates (or a designated representative) are invited to speak for two minutes. We’ve reserved 6:45 – 7:15 p.m for state candidate remarks but can move things around as necessary to accommodate travel and campaign schedules.

Campaign Literature & Petitions

We’ll have tables available for campaign materials in the lobby; please let me know if you’d like us to reserve a table for you. Candidates can display campaign materials in the lobby outside of the assembly meeting room starting at 5:30 p.m. Petitions may be circulated in the lobby but not inside the assembly.

Delegate Selection Plan

Following a preference poll for candidates for Governor at approximately 8 p.m., delegates will break into groups according to their preference for governor to select delegates to the State Assembly. The 15% threshold of checked in and seated delegates applies as it did at the precinct caucus. A preference must receive 15% of the total votes to receive delegates to the congressional or state assemblies (uncommitted is a recognized preference). Summit County has 28 delegates allotted to the State Assembly. Twenty-eight delegates are also allotted to the Congressional District 2 (CD2) Assembly on Friday, April 13, 2018. Summit County also has 28 delegates allotted for the House District 61 (HD61) Assembly that will take place on Friday, April 13, 2018. For more information, please email Chair@SummitCountyDems.org.
